The official launch has been held for the 2016 Liverpool Santa Dash, which will be held by BTR Liverpool.

The Santa Dash sees thousands of people racing in Santa costumes, both red and blue mirroring the city's top football clubs, to raise funds for the event's official charities: Radio City's Cash For Kids, Everton In The Community and Zoe's Place Baby Hospice.

Each year, the number of Liverpool Santa Dash entrants increases, to the extent that it has entered a friendly rivalry with the Las Vegas Santa Dash to continuously set a new world record for the largest number of Santas in one place, and so in its 13th year, organisers are hoping to set a brand new landmark with the 2016 race.

On-hand for the launch event were the Thomas Brothers: Ryan, a longtime cast member of Coronation Street; Scott, who has been on the Emmerdale team for years, and Adam, who you may remember from Love Island. Other guests at the launch included Philip Olivier and Kurtis Stacey.

So, get into the Christmas spirit, channel your inner Santa, and come along to raise funds for many good causes this Xmas season!

The Liverpool Santa Dash will take place on Sunday December 4, beginning at the Pier Head at 09.30 and finishing at Liverpool Town Hall.
